Sir George Zangir is the co-founder and President of Value Seeds Limited. He is also President and CEO, Manoma Integrated Links Limited, a leading grain producing and agricultural produce value chain support company, and Valu Basic Limited, a company which is into the production and distribution of Early Generation Seeds in Nigeria. He is Chairman, GICE Agrosciences Limited, a leading crop protection and yield enhancement company. Prior to the incorporation of above companies, Sir Zangir had worked for the Candel Company Limited, a foremost crop protection company in Nigeria as Regional Manager in charge of North and North Central at different times. Before this time, he worked for Jubaili Agrotec as Head of Sales Department. He also worked for Alheri Seeds Limited as Marketing Manager and Head of Sales/Marketing Department, and UAC Seeds Limited, a Division of UAC Nigeria PLC as Regional Sales Controller. These were foremost seed companies at the time. He has in the last 25 years contributed actively to the development of Nigeria’s seed systems and crops value chains. A graduate of Administration, he has attended Harvard Business School Executive Program. He is an alumnus of Nanyang Business School, Singapore, Lagos Business School, University of Stellenbosch Business School, Cape Town and Antai Business School, Shanghai.
Mrs. Cassandra George is the co-founder of Value Seeds Limited and her subsidiary, Manoma Integrated Links Limited. She is the Vice President of the Company. A graduate of Accounting, she is well-versed in administration, accounting and sales. Her experience of over 15 years in Agribusiness Management has led to the growth and development of the Company.
George Kabutha, a Kenyan, is the Group Head of Finance and Administration for Value Seeds Limited and her subsidiaries. He is highly experienced in the world of finance and accounting, having spent over ten years. His strength lies in organization, passion, integrity and hard work. Since joining the services of Value Seeds Limited, he has established efficient filing system, robust budgeting system, effective and efficient accounting system, intensive financial model for funding and capacity building across the organization. A Chartered Accountant and a graduate of Accounting and Business Management (Finance) from the Kenya College of Accountancy and Moi University, he has worked in different capacities as an accountant, consultant and administrator for several firms, some of which are Catherine Mwangi Associates and Zuri Ignite Limited. He is happily married.
Anthony Job is a Senior Plant Breeder at Value Seeds Limited. In his role, Anthony heads the technical team of Value Seeds for effective development and maintenance of improved maize, rice, soybean, cowpea and sorghum varieties. His duties include design and execution of field trials, coordination of seed production activities, germplasm development and enhancement, as well as the collation and analyses of data from experiments among other roles. He is also involved in capacity building of staff, out-growers and private sector partners. Anthony has more than 10 years’ hands-on experience in breeding crops. He is also vast in general agriculture, being born into a family of Agriculturists of different disciplines. His primary interest is research for development, aimed at bridging research and commerce. Prior to joining Value Seeds in August, 2019, Anthony worked with the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Ibadan (March 2013 to July, 2019) where he actively participated in the improvement of maize for higher grain yield and stress adaptations. He has also worked at Ruwan Kanya Integrated Farms, Kaduna and Agriprime Limited, Oyo in the early years of his professional career. Anthony has contributed immensely to agricultural growth in the private sector, serving as a crop production consultant to numerous clients across Nigeria. Anthony obtained both B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Agronomy (Crop Science) from the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria. He is presently rounding up requirements for a PhD degree in Plant Breeding at the same university. He has also attended numerous international conferences, trainings and workshops centered on crop improvement. He is happily married.
Michael Adebayo, who hails from Ede in Osun State, is a graduate of Computer Science from the University of Ilorin. He joined the services of Value Seeds Limited in 2017 first as an Information Technology Officer. As a result of his innate administrative acumen, he was deployed to the Administrative Unit of the Company within a short period of joining. Since then, he had witnessed growth and presently serves as the Group Admin of the Organisation. He had also attended several Management trainings to boost his management morale. A personality with the thirst to learn more from diverse fields, he enjoys reading books and programming in CPython Language.
Onoja Peter Owoicho Is the Project Coordinator, Crops Value Chain at Value Seeds Limited. He has a Bsc in Business Management and entrepreneurship and has obtained numerous training in seed production, rural farmers mobilization and project management. He is a highly motivated and experienced Project coordinator with excellent organisational and farmers management skills.The projects Peter has coordinated for Value seeds includes… Perl-Arc, AECF, AGRA-EGS and Currently the Mastercard Foundation Support for Food and Job Creation a Post COVID 19 intervention in Kaduna, Kano, and Katsina Targetted at improving livelihood of 10,000 farmers. He heads the Manoma Integrated Links a subsidiary of Value Seeds Limited. Peter has great analytical skills in seeds multiplication. He ensure product delivery that meets the needs of stakeholders and clients in the Agric sector.
Okolo Samson Ayegba: Has over seven year experience in the Agricultural extension and agribusiness sector. Joined Value Seeds Limited in 2017 as a Sales Representive. Samson is a graduate of Agricultural Economics and Extension with a Masters degree in Agribusiness Management. He obtained various training for career advancement at Value Seeds. He was trained on Seed Business Management at the Seed Enterprise Management Institute University of Nairobi Kenya. He multitasked for Value Seeds Limited. These include Business Development, Project Management and B2B collaborations. He currently heads the Sales and Marketing Department. Samson progresses skills development in AgTech, Agrifinance and Agricultural commodity Trading and Export. He is pasasionate to drive and increase seeds adoption rate by Smallholders farmers in Nigeria. Samson is zealous to advance Youths' participation in agriculture.
Mr. Igyuve is a Plant Breeder and Geneticist by profession with demonstrated history in crop improvement for yield, drought tolerance/resistance, Low nitrogen, fall army worm tolerate/resistance, nutrient-dense, climate smart and market preferred varieties, an astute researcher skilled in Project management. biostatistics and data management. He is a graduate of Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi where he obtained his B.Agric (Plant Breeding and Seed Science), MSc (Plant Breeding and Genetics) and PhD in-view (Plant Breeding) at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. As an integral part of Value Seeds varietal development team, Mr. Igyuve formed the research team that developed and released Medium Maturing White Maize Hybrid (VSL 2101) with combined tolerance to drought and low soil nitrogen (Low N), Medium Maturing Yellow Maize Hybrid (VSL 2102) with tolerance to low soil nitrogen (Low N) and Early Maturing White Maize Hybrid (VSL 2065) with tolerance to low soil nitrogen (Low N). Mr. Igyuve has successfully led projects like ... The Covid-19 Rice Seed Intervention Project (CORIZ) under AfricaRice, Accelerated Varietal Improvement and Seed Delivery of Legumes and Cereals in Africa (AVISA), Supervisor AGRA Early Generation Seed Project and Cowpea EGS - Syngenta Foundation for Sustainable Agriculture (SFSA). He is currently the Project lead for Kano State Agro-Pastoral Development Project (KSADP) as well Project Coordinator for CBN Wheat Brown Revolution intervention project, he also oversees the production of rice Early Generation Seed (EGS) for ValuBasic Limited and head of rice production for Value Seeds Limited. Mr. Igyuve desire to see a more resilient and direct impact of research on the livelihood of small-holder farmers.
Henry Moses, a Pragmatic and dynamic I.T specialist, a Data Doctor, an M.Sc. degree holder in Computer Science - Ahmadu Bello University. A Microsoft Certified Data Analyst Associate, Google Certified data Analytics with over 8 years experience in transforming data into actionable information and insights for business goals. Henry is on the mission to transform the I.T landscape of Value Seeds Limited. His active contributions and innovative ideas on several projects has proven true to this. From Mastercard foundation to Covid-19 Recovery and Resilience Project, AGRA Gender Consortium Project, and CBN Wheat Project etc. continually providing hands-on IT and data solutions to ensure the projects achieve the desired outcomes.
Abisola Fashina is the Team Lead, Monitoring and Evaluation at Value Seeds Limited. She has an M.Sc in Agricultural Economics from Ahmadu Bello University and a BSc in Agricultural Economics from Obafemi Awolowo University. She has worked on several projects implemented by Value Seeds such as the Mastercard foundation Covid-19 Recovery and Resilience Project, AGRA Gender Consortium Project, AECF Seeds for Impact Program, Kano State Argo-Pastoral Development Project and CBN Wheat Project with proven ability to ensure that the projects achieve their desired outcomes. Abisola is a results-driven M&E Specialist with experience in designing, implementing and managing M&E systems in agriculture and development contexts. She has a track record of collecting and analyzing data to generate actionable insights for program improvement. She excels at working with cross functional teams to deliver insights that impact strategic planning. Abisola is skill full in program design, implementing monitoring and evaluation systems, impact assessment, programme management, knowledge management, proposal development, in-depth research, gender mainstreaming strategies, agribusiness development, leadership, team building and critical thinking She is passionate about sustainable community development, driving Organizational change and building the capacity of teams.
